Course Topics

All the natural phenomena in this world, including a human being himself/herself, are considered the materials dynamism of atoms and molecules. As the basis to understand the materials dynamics, it is the purpose of this course to study the characteristics of atoms and molecules as constituent units of the substance and to conprehend the appearance of nonlinearity, nonequilibrium and nonstationarity in the natural worlds, from the viepoint of complex systems sciences and by multi-scale simulation.

Course Purpose

Course Contents

In this lecture, we will understand basic theory such as mechanical methods for describing the dynamic states of atoms and molecules, theories using distribution functions to understand the statistical behavior of the aggregate as a whole, and the method of realization to quantify material information. Assuming understanding these above, we will study the theory and methods of chemical reactions and material information dynamics of the natural world that occur away from the steady state, focusing on contemporary and concrete themes. In this lecture, we will focus on viewpoints and methodologies that connect from microscopic to macroscopic one on the premise of taking "Special Lecture 1 on Material Information Dynamics".

〔plan〕
1. Opening
2. Molecular motion and its mechanical treatment
3. Chemical reaction simulation
4. Theory of electronic states in molecules
5. Chemical reaction of aggregation system -Reconsideration-
6. How to view mesoscale material changes
7. Various substances and the value creation
8. Closing
